Last night I had the opportunity to see the future. No folks I was on a psychadelic mushroom trip, I had the opportunity to watch top prospect John Tavares and Victor Hedman face off at the ACC. I hope Brian Burke was in attendance and immediately concocted a plan for the Leafs to tank the rest of the season in order to gain a draft position to take either one of these players. Pierre McGuire hyperbole aside, these two players are legit future superstars and the Leafs should position themselves to take either one of them.
The Leafs have already out performed the preseason prognosticators with their play this season. The losing should begin tonight in Pittsburgh and it shouldn’t stop until the end of the year. Tavares and Hedman are worth it and the long term fortunes of the club would be much improved if they could acquire either of these young studs.
