Even after a lean 3 and 9 year of Rich Rod Wolverine football, you can still count me in as a pretty ardent supporter of the Michigan Football program. Last season proved to be very difficult year as a fan, one in which I really didn’t have much to cheer for. But despite all of that I’m still a pretty loyal fan (note my fandom for the Leafs, Jays and Bills as examples of me making unwise choices in the past).
When dealing with the current plight of Michigan football I figure I can deal with almost anything.
- The players claim they practice too long and that they miss the occasional class – I can deal with that. You name a top flight college program that doesn’t practice too long and I’ll point you towards the Syracuse Orangemen.
- The Wolverines are implementing Rich Rodriguez’s spread offense that they don’t have all the pre requisite athletes to execute it effectively (Thank you very much Mr. Terrell Pryor). – Hey I can deal with the growing pains of a new system now that they are reaping the benefits with a seemingly super freshman named Tate Forcier.
- I can live with the fact that they haven’t won a National Championship since Brian Griese was under center.
However even I must draw the line somewhere. How on earth can I accept Michigan’s punter not being able to run under the Michigan banner during the pre game run up? Very shaky Mr. Zolten Mesko, very shaky indeed.
