My fantasy football co-owning friend Hook has some severe love for J.P Losman, the former starting quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. Many of our more colourful conversations revolve around how Hook believes that J.P Losman could’ve been a star and that he was merely mishandled by the Bills coaching staff.
I can agree on the mismanaged part because the Bills hierarchy have and still keep finding ways to cleverly destroy many players careers, but my point of contention on the Losman debate has more to do with the fact that I don’t believe Losman was or is any good. Plain and simple.
Judging by Losman’s current lack of NFL status, I guess most NFL talent evaluators would tend to agree. The thing I find interesting is that five years into his career, and J.P. Losman can no longer find a spot on anybody’s three-deep at quarterback. What does the writing on the wall say about him when Trent Edwards and Jamarcus Russell can be starters and he can’t even get an offer? Undeterred by his critic’s Losman is now QB1 for the UFL’s Las Vegas Locomotives.
However on this wonderful day of thankfulness, I wanted to extend some good tidings to my pal Hook so I scoured the internet in hopes to find a box score for Losman’s debut with in the United Football League and after some digging I was able to find it.
