The NBA some-stars were named today. I am inclined to use the term some-stars since Allen Iverson (who is no longer an all-star caliber player) was voted on as a starter to the Eastern squad. An egregious error to say the least. Thankfully a more atrocious error was avoided when Steve Nash was able to shake down and rally past Tracy McGrady (who’s not even wanted by his team after playing a grand total of 46 minutes for the Houston Rockets) to be named a starter in the all-star game.
Nash’s late voting spike was in no doubt aided by his massive Canuck following. Meaning Canadian basketball fans may have finally exacted a bit of revenge on Tracy McGrady for leaving the Toronto Raptors all those years ago. Yes it may be a small bit of revenge to take solace in, but it feels good nonetheless. That’s right folks, I’m that damn fickle.
Let this be a lesson to Chris Bosh who could perhaps be leaving this Toronto this off-season.
