Looking at my March Madness bracket(s) I can only shake my head and ask (like Tiger’s Mom did) “What happened?” Perusing these now useless pieces of paper render me only to shake my head and wonder where did I go wrong with my prognostications? It’s a sad, sad day indeed for this obese cat. Generally in most cases my bracket(s) picks are pretty solid and I’m somewhat in contention to win whatever pool I’ve entered. This won’t be the case this year, as my picks on the opening day of the Madness came up snake eyes.
However I’m happy report that all is not lost my friends. Even though my bracket(s) are rendered useless after only the first day of action, I can still get excited about today’s match-ups. That’s because it’s Gus Johnson day and let me be the first (of many? probably not) to wish you a Happy Gus Johnson Day. Having Johnson announce the games today for CBS takes away the majority of the sting I feel for making so many ill advised picks in my bracket(s). Here’s his schedule for those of you who need some appointment television.
My friends (I hope they mind me calling them that – I mean it’s a one handed friendship at this point. One where I just steal their hard work.) at MidWest Sports Fans have compiled Gus Johnson’s 5 best calls. I suggest you check them out, but if you can’t here’s a little sampling of the excitable Gus to help set your viewing mood for the day. May your bracket(s) survive the day. Enjoy!
