Yankees mirror kissing and eyebrow tweasing slugger Alex Rodriguez isn’t wasting time any time this season in making friends across the major leagues. It would appear that A-Roid’s newest bff is Oakland A’s hurler Dallas Braden. During a recent game A-Roid fouled off a ball, circled the bases, and then took a shortcut to first across the mount. Braden wasn’t very happy with his path home.
He just told me to get off his mound. I was a little surprised. I’ve never heard of that, especially from a guy with a handful of wins in his career,” A-Rod said.
Braden: “I don’t care if I’m Cy Young or if I’m the 25th man on the roster. If I’ve got that ball in my hand and I’m out there on that mound, that’s not your mound. If you want to run across the mound, go run laps in the bullpen. That’s my mound … He’s right. I don’t even have a handful of wins. I have three. Do the math A-Rod.”
I don’t have a MLB pocket schedule handy (note that I’m also too lazy to pull up mlb.com to check the schedule also) but methinks that A-Roid might want to be careful when digging into the batter’s box the next time out vs. the A’s.
