One of the best things about the NCAA tourney is flood of memories that rush back to me. This tourney has been a staple in my sports viewing for as long as I can remember (I can vaguely remember the 1983 final when NC State shocked Houston. I was a mere 5 year old with a 10 year old waist when coach Jimmy Valvano rushed the floor). This tourney produces so many epic moments and year in and year out it that I look forward to all of the flashbacks during the broadcast.
For all of the Dukie’s out there (EARLES my friend, stand up this is your chance to be counted) will surely remember the 1992 tourney for Christian Laettner’s buzzer beater against Kentucky. A fantastic play to say the least (even though truthfully I can’t stand the Blue Devils). For those of you that can’t visualize Laettner with his back to the basket and the clock ticking down please let the late great Chris Farley take you back there as he recreates the moment precisely.
