I probably should’ve been writing about Roberto Alomar and his induction into the baseball hall of fame for months. But I’ve run into one of my many writing slumps so I’ve been sitting on the sidelines instead enjoying the many highlights and memories of Alomar’s Toronto days.
Being a die hard Jays fan all my life he was mos def one of my all time favourite and I have no qualms calling his the best player to ever wear a Blue Jay uniform. Alomar’s combination of skills that allowed him to hit for average, power, steal bases and play unreal defence at second base made him a pure joy to watch.
Who knew he’d display some these skills on his hall of fame day? During the hall of fame induction weekend the incoming class was greeted by a parade through the small town of Cooperstown, NY. Alomar got to display his swiftness one more time for his fans. Check out this video.
Watching him steal this jersey from a fan during a parade in Cooperstown is pretty much a veteran move. Catch da taste Robbie. Nice work.
