I’m going to say something controversial right now, Carl Lewis – I have no
respect for him
Usain Bolt won yet another medal yesterday at the Olympics in dominating fashion. However it’s not his performance that is catching the headlines this morning, it’s his harsh criticism of US Olympic legend Carl Lewis that is hammering home the page hits (it should be noted that I’m thankful for the hits and support his view on Carl Lewis)
It would appear that Bolt is taking issue with Lewis hinting that Jamaican athletes aren’t subjected to the same type of drug testing that other nations are. This is quite comical even to a part time observer of the world of track (have I not told you about m love of women’s pole vaulting and women’s javelin before) as it’s been rumoured that Lewis himself has failed a few drug tests in his day (only to have the results overturned…wink..wink…nudge…nudge).
I’ve long had no love lost for Carl Lewis and his reputation for a long time. Ben Johnson was a scape goat for drug use at the Seoul games all the while Lewis avoided any suspension and harm to his reputation (other than the harm he caused himself with his horrible rendition of the National Anthem).
So thank you Usain Bolt for your dominating performance and taking Carl Lewis to task. You’ve made my day.
