I have never been a Rory McIlroy fan but after watching Nike’s latest commercial I might have to soften my stance a tad.  My gripe with Rory centers around an interview he gave around the time Tiger’s life/career came off the rails.  McIlroy was quite cocky about his game and Tiger’s lack of game at the time and I saw McIlroy as a cocky little tyrant.

Jason Dufner hoists the Wannamaker Trophy after winning the 95th PGA Championship on Sunday at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.

Jason Dufner (he of the everyman physique) carved his way to victory yesterday at the PGA.   Dufner set the course record at Oak Hill on Friday, shooting a 63, so it only feels right to watch him take home the victory. The win marks Dufner’s first major victory of his career. The closest he came to winning one prior to this had been at the PGA Championship in 2011, where he lost in a playoff to Keegan Bradley.

His skill full play throughout this past weekend is quite easy to admire, but all that aside methinks I admire his post game celly a bit more.  Dufner eschewed the normal long embrace a champion tends to do with his wife (or girlfriend, partner, caddy) for the more unconventional buttocks grab.   Again pretty hard not to admire this guy.
