My favourite basketball player called it a career today. Chris Webber officially retired from the NBA today. CWebb became my fave player when he helped change the landscape of college basketball with the Fab 5 at Michigan. I was in Grade 9 and I was totally enthralled with the Fab 5. I loved the way they rocked the baggy shorts and black socks. They had a swagger that made them easy to root for in my eyes. The leader on that team was CWebb for sure.
Many will point out that CWebb didn’t win in college or the Pro’s. That doesn’t deter me. Many will point to his blunder of calling a timeout vs. UNC. That still doesn’t diminish him in my eyes. I ended up buying a couple Webber bball jersey in my time. Each time I did so he ended up getting traded. I think I was a curse for him. His days in Sacremento should’ve ended with a title or at the very least a finals appearance. However the Kings (or Queens as Shaq would say) couldn’t get by a Lakers dynasty.
One of Webber’s greatest accomplishments might of happened off the floor. I’m refering to his relationship with Tyra Banks. That’s a pretty good score in my eyes. Especially Tyra Banks circa HIGHER LEARNING (think slow motion running the track scene. Nice eh?)

CWebb was awesome man. Remember the Nike commerical he had with Latrell? Didn’t he dunk on Barkley in that?
…never liked webber arse…always a bridesmaid and a little to vocal for not winning jack…but yes he did tap tyra and he was your fav so thats all that matters…
